Black Lives Matter.

If you spend any time on Youtube you know its algorithm can spiral you into some interesting places and Tiktok also has many sides (I spend a lot of time on art, plant lover, and small business Tiktok).

At the start of the protests I kept coming across videos talking about how easy it is to dropship. How you just need a catchy phrase and some products to slap it on and then watch the profits roll in.

And what was "catchy" at the time was/is anything related to Black Lives Matter.

These videos weren't made by black people or other poc.

These videos weren't talking about how to make progress.

These videos weren't talking about why the movement exists, why it's important.

These videos weren't offering avenues to support.

They were purely about capitalizing on something deemed "popular" at the moment.

On Tiktok I had to DIG to find black makers or other poc who were producing products in support BLM and when I did 99% of them also paired that launch with a history lesson, with links to resources, or were donating part of their sales to the cause.

On Instagram I watched influencers and creators learn from their mistakes and move away from empty black boxes with no context and even saw some of them directly address negative responses to their support of BLM in the comments.

Some of my favorite things that happened were larger accounts pairing with a black creator and elevating them to their larger audience, sometimes collaborating and donating together or accepting less of the profits.

These actions gave/give me hope.

I'm going to be sharing some of my favorite Black artists and makers who are producing BLM products whenever I can on Instagram. The stickers and cards shown here are in the shop and a portion of every sale will be donated to an organization (right now I’m donating to Equal Justice Initiative).

Support Black Lives by supporting Black people.

Let's not support those who are purely trying to capitalize
off pain and suffering.

That's all I got to say about that ♥♥♥
